I read your posts with interest… seeing through the report’s details - we stayed at a winery that was confiscated but returned years later - do innocent bystanders get identified and drawn into legal difficulties that take years upon years to resolve?

In Italy they created a lot of anti-Mafia laws back in the 1990's which made life very hard for the Mafia and essentially stopped them using lawfare against the government. (UK, please note.) If a vineyard was confiscated then given back, it probably was wrongly confiscated in the first place. Interesting to note that it could be supposed the Mafia own wineries..... It has been supposed by some, or so I am told, that the wine trade is a Mafia front in the USA. (If you remember, with don Corleone, it was olive oil. Each to his own!)
